Problem

Short-term crypto bets still demand the same toolkit as a Binance or MEXC trader: orderbook literacy, liquidity, and trading mechanics. Beginners drop off in the first 30 seconds. Even experienced users lose time to friction that shouldn’t exist.

Study

Polymarket and Kalshi settle real-world events with human resolution. Hedgehog is on-chain: each round resolves itself from blockchain price metrics: no external event, no human intervention. So the real competitor isn’t the prediction market, it’s the short-term trader on Binance or MEXC. I distilled that into pooled UP/DOWN rounds in ~5-minute cycles, no orderbook, light enough to live on tx fees. So everything was compiled around the community, bringing in new clients, crypto experts or not, with public participation data on the platform, desktop + mobile from day one.

Result

100% of beta users, all selected from our waitlist, with personas mixing beginners and experienced crypto users, understood the mechanics by round two. Time to first action dropped from ~10s to 2-4 seconds.
